Grading: King Kamfa

King Kamfa:
Introduction:
  • Just trying to clarify strains and firstly I think we should begin with What makes a king kamfa
Signs of King Kamfa:
  • 10/10 traits ..... paddle tail, wrapped fins, short face, equal lips, square body, sunken eyes and water kok (doesn’t have to be huge but not hard or semi water) back in the day king kamfa were white eye not red or orange but white
  • The argument of late is king kamfa needs kok coverage to be classed king and not just kamfa .... pearl coverage I disagree but consistent colour over head 100%

FH Eyes

Signs of Kamfa:
  • Kamfa (not king) must have short face, equal lips, square body, sunken eyes, ideally u will also want paddle tail and wrapped fins, eye colour can be white red or orange

FH Eyes

Signs of Classic Kamfa:
  • What makes a classic kamfa (ck) ..... essentials this is made up of a zz or king kamfa or kamfa crossed back to a pure strain be it Texas, devil or Veija (but these have to be culled heavily due to traits as your are aiming for kamfa not a mix match abomination)

Signs of Zhen Zhou:
  • Zz (zhen Zhou’s) these are the original Flowerhorn and has changed so much over the time I have been in the hobby
  • You have old school zz which has the tear drop shape, big head face etc but tapers to a small tail bone with a protruding lower jaw
  • Then the new style at least what I’m seeing in Australia becoming the norm is a bit more solid, not square like kamfa as they taper to have a tail gap and trailers but they continue to have a lower protruding jaw
  • But this brings me to say be it old skool or new style zz the traits are consistent, big lips, under bite, trailing fins, tail gap red eyes

All these variations you do get the different classifications:
  • Silk
  • Thai silk
  • Fader (Golden Base)
  • red dragon
  • Super red dragon
  • Super blue dragon
  • Two tone
Then u do get the variation on traits:
  • Worm pearl
  • Dot pearl
  • Armour pearl
  • Solid script
  • Double script
  • Script less
